Where to get outside around Reynoldsburg

From parks and playgrounds to greenways and hiking trails, Reynoldsburg, Ohio is one of the best places to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. Blacklick Woods Metro Park

Play golf in the summer and sled in the winter. Just three minutes from Traditions at Slate Ridge, Blacklick Woods is a popular outdoor destination that has something for everyone. In addition to golfing and sledding, this 643-acre space features a nature center and nature preserve, six trails, picnic areas, and five shelters available by reservation throughout the year.

John F. Kennedy Park and Huber Park

Just five minutes from Traditions at Slate Ridge, you’ll find the Reynoldsburg municipal building and John F. Kennedy Park. This 26-acre park offers a modern playground, picnic areas, a skate park, and the Blacklick Creek trail which will connect you to Huber Park, about 10 minutes away on foot. Huber Park is home to five baseball diamonds, a playground, and another 42 acres of trails and green space. 

Turnberry Community Park

Continue heading south for 10 more minutes and you’ll pick up another leg of the Blacklick Creek trail at Turnberry Community Park. While short on playground equipment, this park is big on beauty, with wide-open space and plenty of shade trees and foliage. It’s a perfect place to take a jog or tranquil walk during any season. 

Civic Park

On the opposite end of Reynoldsburg, you’ll find Civic Park. It’s just shy of three miles from Traditions at Slate Ridge Apartments, and it’s another destination that borders Blacklick Creek. Civic Park is the 137-acre home to basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, a playground, and a 1.1 mile paved path ideal for walking, jogging, and cycling. 

Olde Quarry Park

Continue up Reynoldsburg - New Albany Road and you’ll hit Olde Quarry Park, 4.4 miles north of Traditions at Slate Ridge. Somewhat of a hidden gem according to Google reviews, this park offers a quiet path along Blacklick Creek and a shady pond that’s perfect for fishing.
